The lace bookmarks are handmade by Sharon. Each bookmark took about 3.5 hours to create. On average, it takes one hour to make one square inch of bobbin lace.

Torchon lace is one of the oldest laces and is common in many lace-making regions, including Belgium, France, Italy, Saxony, Sweden, and Spain. Due to its simplicity, torchon lace is generally the first lace a lacemaker learns to make. It requires only a few bobbins and uses thicker thread than other laces, making it easier to learn. It is also the simplest of all the grounded laces.
