Dedication

This "Meister" piece is dedicated to the pioneer family of Charles Frederick William Meister who braved the uncharted wilds of Nova Scotia in 1816 to come to and help establish the new military community of Sherbrooke, Lunenburg County, British Colony of Nova Scotia, British North America. He, along with his family, was among the 172 disbanded military soldiers who joined the efforts to clear the forested, rocky soil. After three years, the Meister family was among the few who stayed. They now had to make it on their own resources as the rations were cut off. From them and from their children came the many descendants who are recorded in the following pages.

The family is one of Nature's masterpieces.
