"Nuthatches are year round visitors to my bird feeder. Small and feisty, these sturdy little birds will use their wings to shoo others from the feeder. Having a nuthatch grab a sunflower seed out of my hand is an enjoyable start to the day. Nuthatches are on of the few species to actually creep down a tree trunk headfirst. This distinctive ability makes it possible for them to find food in crevices overlooked by birds that climb upward."
